Gedara is currently know as Um Qais and it is a wonderful site as previously described, Pella is also a site which Jacob crossed ( he arose that night and he took his two wives, his two maid servants, and his eleven sons and crossed over the ford of Jabbock).Evening back to Amman for overnight.

Day 3: Baptism Site, Dead Sea

After breakfast, Drive Baptism Site. Located at or around the natural hill at Tell El Kharrar where John the Baptisit lived, preached and baptized, the village of Bethany beyond the Jordan was explicitly mentioned in the Bible, John 1:28 “Bethany beyond the Jordan where John was Baptized“, while John 10:40 mention an incident when Jesus escaped from hostile Pharisees in Jerusalem and “went away again across the Jordan to the place where John at first was baptizing”. Bethany beyond the Jordan” (John 1:28). This important site of early Christianity, which Jesus also visited by reference of John 1:28 to “Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing “John 10:40 mentions an incident when Jesus escaped from hostile crowds in Jerusalem and “Went away again across the Jordan to the place where John at first baptized.       ” This Bethany area in Jordan, sometimes referred to in the Bible as Perea, is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, the hometown of Lazarus. The Bible recounts that Eljah parted the waters of the Jordan River and walked across it with his successor the Prophet Elisha, then ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire (2 Kings2:5-14). The small hill from which Elijah ascended to heaven has been known for centuries as Elijah’s Hill, and forms the core of the settlement at Bethany in Jordan. The ongoing survey excavations at Bethany in Jordan have uncovered a 1st Century AD settlement with Plastered pools and water system that were used almost certainly for baptism, and a 5th - 6th Century AD late Byzantine settlement with churches, a monastery, and other structures probably catering to religious pilgrims Then Proceed to Dead Sea fro relax. The Dead Sea is a favorite relaxation spot. Spend the day sunbathing swimming, or dining, Relax in the gently lapping waters you cannot sink! It is equally renowned for its high salt content , which constitutes 33 %. The water ' s high density increases buoyancy that makes for an interesting swimming experience. The sea ' s mud bottom is also high in minerals that when seared on the skin leaves the body feeling soft and supple. Treat yourself
to a soothing massage, or try the well-known healing powers of minerals from the
sea ' s muddy floor. Evening drive to Amman hotel for overnight

Day 4: Madaba, Mt. Nebo

After breakfast drive to Madaba. Madaba the fruit juice city that has the most wonderful mosaic map ever discovered in the area which it go’s back the 6th century AD. From Madaba taking the kings high way following the footsteps of Moses and the Israelite to Mount Nebo. We visit the Saint George’s Greek - Orthodox Church, the Archaeological Museum of Madaba will also be visited, where numerous mosaics found in the area are situated. These fantastic mosaics are from the Byzantine era. At St. George's Cathedral, you will see the most famous of all--a clearly-labeled mosaic map of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas dated 560 AD, which has helped archaeologists to identify many other important sites in Jordan.

Then proceed to Mt. Nebo, Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho Deuteronomy (32:1- 12) the Memorial of Moses, where it is presumed his death and burial place. Where God reaffirmed the covenant of faith, Mount Nebo is one of Jordan’s most sacred sites According to the Bible, it is the place from where Moses viewed the Promised Land in Canaan, and where he died and was buried in a nearby valley. And consists of a Trefoil church built by early Christians at least as early as 393 AD, and is famous for having been visited by the Pilgrim Ageria. Later, traditions say that it was here that the Prophet Jeremiah hid the Ark of the Covenant to save it from the conquest of Jerusalem by King Nebuchadnezzar in 588-87 SC. During the Byzantine era, the Mount Nebo summit and Church (Siyagha in Arabic) had different names including Naba, Nebo, Abarim and Phasga. Continue to John The Baptist (Mukawer) In Mukawir area, there is a palace-fortress where king Herodian held John prisoner, prior to his tragic death. For when John told King Herodian that he has sinned by marrying his brother's wife, the king got furious and locked him up in this fortress. The Palace, named Macherus in Greek is known today as Makawer, and is located 66-klm souths west of Amman. It retains the memories of some very dramatic ancient human and political events, including the beheading of John the Baptist, a Jewish revoh against the Roman rule, and a prolonged Roman siege and destruction of the rebels. From the summit of Makawer one has a splendid view of the Dead Sea, the hills of central Palestine and the rolling low mountains towards Jerusalem. The palace has gained considerable fame because it is where Herod Antipas imprisoned and then beheaded John the Baptist. Then proceed to Moabite Kingdom (Um El Rasas, Kerak) The Moabite kingdom Debon number (21:30) (32-3) (32-34) reaching Arnon valley the great border (numbers 21-14) Deuteronomy 38:16 passing Aroer (while Israel dwelt in Heshbon and its villages in Aroer and all the cities along the bank of Arnon Judges (11:26) taking off from Arnon going back to castron maipha one of the Amoinent Iron Age cities Kerak (Kir Heres) (Kir Moab) or Karho.
