ITINERARY:

Day 1 Arrive Ha Noi:

On arrival at Ha Noi  Bay Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. A welcome drink and tour briefing are followed with a

city tour by cyclo and a performance of traditional Vietnamese Water Puppetry.

 

 Day 2 Ha Noi -Ha Long Bay:

This morning we travel to the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay where our boat and sumptuous seafood feast awaits us. ruising amongst the limestone islets there is opportunity to explore the wondrous caves and swim. As we head back to Ha Noi in the late afternoon, Dong Trieu ceramic village reveals the secrets of traditional ceramic craftsmanship.

 

Day 3 Ha Noi - Hue:

A visit to Ba Dinh Square, the site of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and humble house on stilts, commences a busy day of discovery. The famous One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature (Viet Nam's first university) lend insight into a long and interesting history. Wandering through some of the 36 guild streets of the Old Quarter will both intrigue and tempt shoppers with the multitude of crafts and wares on display. In the late afternoon we board our short flight to the Imperial city of Hue.

 

Day 4 Hue - Da Nang - Hoi An

A visit to the impressive tomb of King Khai Dinh bears testament that the Nguyen Rulers are as powerful in death as they were in life. As we later follow the cobbled paths through the grounds of the Imperial Citadel, we glimpse the royal splendor of a different time.

A breathtaking journey over the Hai Van Pass brings us to Da Nang, where the Museum of Cham sculpture displays carvings from a once powerful and prosperous civilization. Arriving into the old merchant town of Hoi An, the heritage streets beckon exploration. Be tempted by the art galleries, hand crafted woodwork, ceramics, lanterns, embroidery and tailor shops where an entire wardrobe can be made overnight.

 

Day 5 Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

Fallowing a brief guided introduction, where restored shop houses, Chinese Assembly Halls and shared water wells paint a vivid story, we are free to explore Hoi An's 'living history' until our transfer to Da Nang for the afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 6 Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi:

We are engulfed by the dynamic energy of Ho Chi Minh City as we explore historic landmarks including Notre Dame Cathedral and the former US Embassy. As we enter the Chinese District of Cho Lon, home to the largest wholesale market in Viet Nam, the energy is palpable and respite from the frenetic activity is found within the ornate walls of Chinatown's oldest Pagoda, Thien Hau.

In the afternoon we venture beyond the city limits to the former Viet Cong stronghold at Cu Chi, where we explore this remarkable tunnel network.

 

Day 7 Depart Ho Chi Minh City: A good opportunity to do some last minute shopping before your transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for your ongoing flight.
